The Fula Women Association of North America (FUWANA) is a Maryland-based NGO. FUWANA aims to support women, girls, and youth across West and Central Africa by offering education, training opportunities, and financial assistance. The theme of this fundraiser is literacy and learning in elementary schools.
This special event presents a unique opportunity for us to come together, strengthen our partnership, and support the continued success of our important initiatives.
We are supporting elementary students in Africa who live under difficult conditions with a holistic view, community-centered approach, providing school supplies, tutoring, birth certificates for displaced students, hygiene education and the creation of school gardens. We give special importance to girls to keep them in school in order to protect them from violence and shield them from early marriage and teenage pregnancy.
